EUNAVFOR ASPIDES: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle shot-down

The attacks coming from Houthi controlled territories endanger lives of seafarers undermining maritime security. However, no injuries were sustained and the vessel continued its voyage safely to its planned destination.



EUNAVFOR ASPIDES has a defensive mandate, to protect shipping targeted by attacks at sea or from the air. Any response will always come as a consequence of an attack and be necessary, proportionate and limited to international sea or air-space.
