Visit of the Chief of HNDGS to the Hellenic European Union Operations Headquarters (EL EU OHQ) in Larisa

On 25 September 2026, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, visited the Hellenic European Union Operations Headquarters (EL EU OHQ) in Larissa and the new Joint Operations Centre of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES.

During the visit, the Commander of Operation EUNAVFOR ASPIDES, Rear Admiral Vasileios Gryparis, briefed General Choupis on the latest developments in the Area of Operations, as well as on the organisation and capabilities of the new Joint Operations Centre.

The visit provided an opportunity to present the operational coordination and capabilities supporting EUNAVFOR ASPIDES in fulfilling its defensive mandate and contributing to freedom of navigation and maritime security in the Red Sea and the wider Area of Operations.
