EUTM-MOZ visited an association of real Mozambican queens and kings
HIV/AIDS is a reality that affects many people in Mozambique, many of whom need help and understanding, as is the case of the women, men, and children we meet at the Hixikanwe Association. Although with difficulties inherent to the disease and the social stigma that often affects them, the users of that organization, whose name in Changana, a local language spoken in southern Mozambique, means "We Are Together", the motto adopted by the EUTM, did justice to that motto and welcomed us in a warm and friendly way, demonstrating friendship that filled us with joy and strengthened our sense of mission in support of the security of this country and its people.
On the occasion the military personnel of the EUTM-MOZ delivered food, clothing, and toys, some of these products collected in Portugal in a recent campaign carried out by SIC Esperança and had the opportunity to be received in a festive atmosphere, with traditional music and dances, which contagiously mirrored the joy that those people carry.
With this civil-military cooperation action, the mission got closer to the local population and had the pleasure of meeting some of those we affectionately nicknamed the Queens and Kings of Mozambique.
