On 31^st October 2000, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted Resolution 1325 on Women Peace and Security (WPS). It introduced the WPS agenda into the activities of the UNSC and constituted the main framework to guide Member States' action. The resolution's main objectives are to protect the rights of women and girls during armed conflict, combat impunity for gender-based crimes, promote gender equality in peacekeeping operations, and ultimately increase women's participation in peacekeeping activities before, during and after an armed conflict.

The European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic (EUTM RCA) has integrated a gender perspective in planning, conduct and evaluation of the operations joining the gender dimensions and UNSCR 1325 awareness into its operational processes and procedures, and on all gender issues that may occur during the mission, especially on UNSCR and EU Council Decisions affecting EUTM RCA mission. Having this alignment, the EUTM RCA has programmed a Gender Focal Point training for the EUTM, which aims to implement the gender structure in the EUTM RCA, besides gender training to its staff members. Moreover, it has set a Gender Focal Point training for Central African Armed Forces to implement the gender structure within the organization providing further supervised self-sufficiency on gender issues.

The EUTM RCA celebrate this important date. Its men and women are firmly committed, to share their knowledge on the pursuit of a better future where peace and security will prevail.
