EUTM RCA : End of signal course ceremony

28.10.2021

On Friday 22 October 2021, the ceremony marking the end of the Mobile Network Employment (MNE) course for 28 trainees from the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) took place at Camp Kassaï in Bangui.

Presided over by the head of the Kassai training centre, representing General BENTIBANGUI, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of planning, the ceremony took place under the orders of Colonel BARBOSA, head of the Educational Pillar (EDP) of EUTM CAR.

This training, conducted by FACA instructors with the support and advice of EUTM RCA's TRANS specialists, lasted 22 weeks. Technically very demanding and requiring a high level of commitment from the trainees, it provided them with the technical skills required to occupy a transmitter position within a FACA battalion, whether in the field or on operations.

The EUTM RCA instructors provided technical support and expertise in the design of the courses and the implementation of the CIS resources in service within the FACA. The particularly fruitful cooperation between the European and Central African instructors was praised by the head of the EDP pillar, who took the opportunity to thank the managers of the Kassaï training centre for their unwavering commitment alongside those of EUTM CAR.

Finally, and above all, he congratulated the young trainees for their investment and the work they have put in, which has enabled them to be able to take on the role of signallers within one of the FACA battalions without delay and thus contribute to the Central African Armed Forces' permanent liaison with its units in the field.

Emotion and pride were visible among the young trainees and their instructors as they received this well-deserved diploma, which will enrich their military skills and make a substantial contribution to the reconstruction of the Central African Army.

Colonel BARBOSA concluded by saying that "today's armies are complex institutions that extend their commitments over great distances where success depends on the coordination of their actions. Without a reliable communication system and trained and prepared operators, the lines of communication lose their effectiveness and compromise the entire manoeuvre. The challenges that the FACA faces for the stability and security of the CAR require a rapid growth in its communication capacity, which will not be possible without a properly prepared communication network and personnel.
