EUTM RCA project cell: Computers donation at Kassai Garde School in Bangui
Portuguese officer, Major Noro is in charge of the EUTM RCA project cell in support of the FACA. Among the projects he is following is the one in Kassai Garde, east of Bangui, which led him to meet the principal and the headmaster of the two schools in the group. In total, there are no less than 700 pupils, children of civilians and soldiers, in the different levels of primary school.
"The two headmasters expressed to me the need to acquire computers to manage the large number of pupils under their responsibility. I knew that there were unused laptops and asked for permission to make them available to them free of charge," explains Major Noro.
Once this authorisation was obtained, the computers were handed over to the two head teachers, "which had a big impact on the morale of the latter, who were also very committed to their responsibilities," adds the Portuguese officer. These computer resources will allow the two headmasters to have tools adapted to the management of a large number of students.
Having arrived in CAR in 2020, major Noro has implemented several projects as part of his mission. In particular, in interaction with the FACA, he has carried out an agropastoral project at Camp Kassai, enabling former soldiers to retrain. He has also worked on several projects currently underway, including a maternity clinic at Camp Izamo, a maize plantation at PK22 and the rehabilitation of the officer's school in Kassai and the non-commissioned officer's school in Bouar.
