EVSDA 2025 – ‘INNOVATION’ SHORTLIST – "MỲ QUẢNG CÔ KIỀU" RESTAURANT (ILSOLE DESIGN STUDIO)
*
Nestled in the tranquil setting of Vi Ba Mountain, “Mỳ Quảng Cô Kiều” is more than a restaurant—it is a vibrant art experience where traditional cuisine meets contemporary creativity. Born from an old house, the project was revitalized without demolition, preserving its core structure while taking on a new identity: green, sustainable, and full of character.
The most distinctive feature is its unique aesthetic: everyday objects such as old tables and chairs, kitchen utensils, leftover wood, beer bottles, shells, and more are recycled and transformed into surprising interior and decorative elements. Each detail not only beautifies the space but also tells a story of rebirth, turning the restaurant into a “living museum” of creativity.
Unlike typical restaurants, “Mỳ Quảng Cô Kiều” offers guests a complete journey: enjoying traditional Vietnamese dishes within a setting where nature, culture, and art converge. Its originality made it the chosen filming location for the movie “7 năm chưa cưới sẽ chia tay”, affirming the project’s aesthetic uniqueness and cultural appeal.
“Mỳ Quảng Cô Kiều” is not merely a dining destination—it embodies the philosophy of “life-cycle rebirth,” where an old house and discarded items are revitalized to create a one-of-a-kind culinary space.
