EVSDA 2025 – ‘COMMUNICATION DESIGN’ SHORTLIST – EXHIBITION "BĂNG RỪNG NGẬP MẶN" (CROSSING THE MANGROVE FOREST) (NGÔ THỊ MỘNG NGHI)
*
The event “Mangrove Ice” is the graduation project of the author in Graphic Design, completed in 2024 under the guidance of Master Mai Xuan Hung. Inspired by the unique beauty of the mangrove ecosystem—a vital “green shield” in combating climate change—the project aims to honor and raise awareness of this ecosystem. Vietnam ranks among the countries with the largest mangrove forests in the world, playing a key role in preventing sea-level rise and saltwater intrusion—a pressing issue in the Mekong Delta, the author’s homeland.
Regarding visual identity, the event uses blue and green as primary colors, integrating key mangrove elements. The logo is shaped from a mangrove tree, paired with a simple, delicate font that harmonizes with the icon. Patterns are derived from the sun, tree roots, and water surfaces. The visual highlight lies in the illustrated artwork system featuring bright gradient colors and clean lines, accompanied by posters communicating core values of mangroves: flow regulation, biodiversity conservation, wildlife habitats, economic resources, and human survival significance.
