EVSDA 2025 – ‘INNOVATION’ SHORTLIST – WINGS OF TRANQUILITY (NGUYỄN THỊ BÌNH MINH, NGUYỄN ANH ĐỨC, ĐINH THẾ DŨNG)

The project represented Vietnam at the Bamboo Expo Competition 2023 in Guangzhou, China, which challenged participants to design a “bamboo swing playground” blending tradition with innovation.

Inspired by the Chim Lạc motif from Đông Sơn drums—symbolizing unity and aspiration—the design features a wing-shaped bamboo roof that moves like a bird in flight. Built on an 8m x 3m bamboo frame, the structure offers multiple swing positions with views of the lake and forest, including an inclusive system for people with disabilities.

Constructed in 11 days at the Mangrove Bird World Ecological Park, it used over 80% bamboo and minimal landscape alteration. More than a playground, the project creates an interactive space for play, reflection, and connection with nature—embodying the spirit of harmony and togetherness.
