EVSDA 2025 – ‘ARCHITECTURE’ SHORTLIST – "ĐAN CÀI" HOUSE (TAD ATELIER)

*

The house is located in a suburban area on the outskirts of Buôn Ma Thuột City, on a gently sloping 7×40 m plot facing the valley. The project was designed for a young family consisting of a couple and their two sons. In contrast to the high-density housing trend commonly seen in the area, the design team adopted a “just enough” philosophy. The house comprises a ground floor and a mezzanine, providing all the necessary living spaces for the family while optimizing natural ventilation and connections with the surrounding landscape. Modern architecture is applied to make the most of the site’s inherent qualities, particularly natural light, breezes, and expansive valley views.

The design approach seeks to balance modern comfort with the values of the local context. The house is not only a living space but also a place that nurtures connections between family members and the surrounding nature. It represents an effort toward a sustainable approach, suitable for a youthful and dynamic lifestyle while maintaining a sense of closeness and harmony with its setting.
