The BioWraps Project began its research phase in 2020 and officially moved into implementation in January 2025. The initiative focuses on transitioning towards sustainable materials in collaboration with enterprises in Vietnam and several international partner countries. Using peels from the Vietnamese cam sành orange — an abundant agricultural by-product — the team successfully extracted cellulose to produce fully biodegradable bioplastic bags and wrapping films. Through this innovation, BioWraps aims to contribute to reducing plastic waste in Vietnam and promoting the use of eco-friendly materials in everyday applications.
