Message from the Ambassador

Employing more than 20 years of EU experience to my work as EU Ambassador to Georgia since 2018

I started my career at the Swedish Armed Forces HQ in 1993, followed by one year at the Ministry of Defence, and three years at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.

From 1999, I have held a number of positions in Brussels, both in EU institutions and as a Swedish diplomat, including as Member of the EU Policy Unit under High Representative Javier Solana, Deputy PSC Ambassador of Sweden and Member of HR/VP Catherine Ashton’s Cabinet. Before arriving to Georgia, I worked as Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk.

During my time in Georgia I have had the pleasure to experience the country’s colourful political and natural landscape, seen the impact the EU’s substantial assistance is having on the ground, and met warm, innovative and engaging citizens. My mandate is to represent the EU in Georgia, promote EU values and work towards strengthening and deepening our solid bilateral relationship.

My time in Georgia so far has been truly enriching, and I hope to continue exploring the richness this country has to offer throughout my appointment here.
