The European Union Delegation to Lesotho is offering a traineeship of 6 months in its Political, Press and Information section.

Are you a graduate interested in international relations and in the relationship of Lesotho with the European Union? Are you curious to learn more about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Lesotho?

What we offer

A traineeship of 6 months in the Political, Press and Information area of the EU Delegation to Lesotho, starting in May 2022, subject to respect to the local legislation, to perform the following tasks:

  • Information gathering and analysis on political, social, and economic developments in Lesotho, and assisting in the preparation of reports on such developments and dynamics;
  • Attendance and reporting on relevant external meetings, e.g. conferences, seminars, etc;
  • Translation of documents of interest for the Delegation from Sesotho;
  • Assist in analysis of media reports, in the monitoring and preparation of contents for social media and in the organization of public events of the EU Delegation.

What are we looking for

  • Minimum: A bachelor's degree in Political Science, Economics or Law.
  • A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Minimum B average grade.
  • Maximum one year of professional experience.
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English and Sesotho.
  • Due to the very evolving context of the COVID-19 pandemic, only applicants residing in Lesotho will be considered.

Important information

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from nоn-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for a test and interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
