This project will improve the border crossing conditions at three locations (i.e. Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan) along the border Armenian-Georgian border.

Text

The purpose is to facilitate cross border movement of persons and goods, while at the same time maintain secure borders by provision of all necessary conditions for effective performance of border, customs and other controls. It will significantly contribute towards the enhancement of inter-agency cooperation efficiency, including technical capacity for information exchange, required for an effective border management and on border control operational procedures.

EU contribution (NIF): € 12 240 000 (overall cost € 47 456 000)

Implementing organisations: UNDP, European Investment Bank (EIB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

Duration: 36 months | December 2013 – December 2016

Locations: Bagratashen (Tavush), Bavra (Shirak), and Gogavan (Lori)
