President Juncker and President Museveni meet on EU-EAC

This morning the President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker and the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Museveni met for an exchange of views on issues of interest to the European Union and the East African Community.
President Museveni came to Brussels in his capacity as Chairman of the East African Community mandated from the East African Community Summit to reach out to the European Union in order to communicate the East African Community circumstances relating to the process of signature and ratification of the Economic Partnership Agreement by all five East African Community Partner States.
President Juncker listened carefully to President Museveni's explanations on the East African Community circumstances and had subsequently a constructive dialogue on all matters relating to the Economic Partnership Agreement.
President Juncker assured President Museveni of the European Union's continuous support to the East African Community integration. Furthermore he reassured President Museveni that the agreement stays open for all countries to sign and expressed the hope that for those that have specific issues the best avenue was dialogue at the appropriate technical level in order to clarify all pending issues delaying the signature of the Economic Partnership Agreement by all five East African Community Partner States.
