EU Alumni Network in Vietnam: Launching Gala in Hanoi
Launched by the Delegation of the EU to Vietnam, the EAN initiative which aims to engage individual alumni from different education or exchange programmes run by the EU and its Member States.
The EAN’s main objectives fostering interactions, dialogue, and partnerships, contributing to facilitate the potential for cooperation between the EU and Vietnam in the future.
Attended by the EU Ambassador to Vietnam, Ambassadors and staff of EU Member States’ embassies and institutions in Vietnam, and more than 150 EU alumni currently living and working in Hanoi, the event constituted a valuable opportunity for EU alumni to meet, exchange, share and network, thereby creating potential professional connections afterwards.
In the opening remarks for the event from the EU Ambassador Giorgio Aliberti, he stated: “Each alumnus has a different experience in their study country, but all alumni share the same eternal values that they have brought back from studying in Europe. Studying in Europe is a unique experience: both in academic, cultural, social and personal dimensions. What they have thus brought back to Vietnam is their own personal Europe, and experiences of history, society and innovation that have truly opened their mind.”
At the event, the Chairman of the Network and the Advisory Board were also introduced with the role of engaging members, as well as developing action plans and future activities for EAN, which might include concerts, fairs, seminars, research activities, amongst others, to support EU alumni to develop their own career and learn from the experiences of other Network members – with different backgrounds, experiences and capabilities; thereby contributing to promoting and consolidating the development of a long-term and diversified partnership between the EU and Vietnam.
Following the event in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh City Launching Gala will take place on 07 October.
