INSCHOOL project – Inclusive Education Ambassador Initiative

Inclusive Schools: Making a Difference for Roma Children (INSCHOOL) is a Joint Project of the European Commission and the Council of Europe focusing on inclusive education policies and innovative education practices for Roma children and children at risk of exclusion. The Inclusive Education Ambassador Initiative, launched as part of the project, aims to raise public awareness about the benefits and value of inclusive education.

A group of twelve "Inclusive Education Ambassadors" from Albania, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and the United Kingdom met in Strasbourg to discuss and develop specific activities for promoting inclusive education and desegregation in their countries. More information can be found here.

A study visit organised as part of the project gathered a group of 40 education policymakers, experts, and practitioners from several EU Member States to learn about Portugal's remarkable achievements in inclusive education. The visit fostered valuable discussions and reflections on transferability of practices. Read more about the study visit here.

A training course organised under the project will be launched in 11-13 July 2023 with a residential seminar in Budapest, Hungary. The training aims to raise participants’ competencies on policymaking processes in education with a focus on embedding inclusive values, and use of research and data. During the training programme, a particular attention will be given to possible solutions to challenges faced by children at risk of marginalisation and exclusion, including those of Roma children.
