TSE Draws Lots for Ballot Placement in the Presidential Runoff

The runoff will take place on Sunday, October 19. Representing the PDC, Rodrigo Paz is running for President and Edmand Lara for Vice President. For the Libre Alliance, Jorge Tuto Quiroga is the presidential candidate, and Juan Pablo Velasco is running for the vice presidency.
TSE board member Gustavo Ávila announced that 8 million ballots will be printed for voters inside the country and nearly 370,000 for Bolivians living abroad. He explained that the design will be simpler, with a single strip divided between the two political organisations.
The electoral material will be sent to 22 countries and 110 cities abroad. Security measures will remain the same as in the first round, including barcodes, invisible ink, and special patterns on the records. The allocated budget amounts to 194 million bolivianos, covering both the Preliminary Results System and voting abroad.
Ávila also stated that on September 19 the drawing of polling station officials will take place. He stressed that no citizen will repeat the role, as regulations require a new selection process with the same voter registry, 30 days before the election.
Finally, the TSE Plenary Chamber approved two debates. The first, featuring the vice-presidential candidates, will be held on October 5. The second, between presidential candidates, is scheduled for October 12.
