Workshop: Enhancing Media Literacy and AI Integration for Content Producers
From October 21–23, the “Enhancing Media Literacy and AI Integration for Content Producers” workshop united local journalists and journalism students at the Bouygues Carbon Center in Ashgabat to explore the evolving intersection of media and technology
The event brought together over 20 journalists, lecturers, and media students — all eager to strengthen their media skills and explore the future of responsible communication.
Expert trainer Marat Sadykov shared practical tools, strategies, and personal tips on how to use AI and digital media ethically and creatively
Participants explored how artificial intelligence can empower ethical storytelling and creativity in media. The topic inspired engaging conversations about using technology to tell stories with impact and integrity.
Sessions also covered mobile journalism, hands-on media production, and ways to integrate new digital tools into daily reporting. Today, mobile journalism remains one of the most widely spread and effective tools for content creators.
The Training remains a part of contribution to the European Union's broader commitment to media literacy, ethical communication, and resilient media in Central Asia.
Through interactive group work and real-life case studies, participants applied their new knowledge to tackle common challenges in journalism today. Given training created an opportunity for students majoring in journalism to obtain knowledge from not only trainers, but also from experienced journalists.
The training also encouraged dialogue on how media can promote transparency, inclusion, and constructive public discourse in Turkmenistan.
By the end of the event, participants left inspired — equipped with practical skills, fresh ideas, and a shared vision for responsible media in the digital age. This means that the objective of the training was fulfilled in its full potential.
Trainings as such remain a platform for creativeness, complemented with professionalism. The event fostered networking and collaboration, connecting journalists, students, and experts to build a stronger, more innovative media community in Central Asia.
