Youth Policy Dialogue (YPD) on EU Foreign Policy
Young people are essential partners in shaping the future of EU foreign policy. From 3 to 4 June, a diverse group of 25 young people aged 19-30 from EU Member States, Western Balkan countries and other like-minded European countries will attend a two-day pogramme of discussions, workshops and dialogues relating to EU foreign policy priorities.
The youth-led programme will cover:
- The EU as a reliable geopolitical actor to build global partnerships where human rights and value-based cooperation are central
- Foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and disinformation
- The role of youth in peace, security, and reconciliation.
The objective of the Dialogue is to listen to young participants with a strong interest in EU foreign policy and to communicate clearly the EU’s commitment to meaningful youth engagement. The Dialogue aims to foster an open exchange of ideas, enabling participants to share their perspectives, ask questions, and contribute to discussions on global and foreign policy issues that matter to their generation. The Dialogue is expected to produce key takeaways and to strengthen the EU’s youth network on foreign policy issues.
A highlight of this programme will be a dialogue between the participants and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, during which they will discuss geopolitical leadership in the context of EU enlargement, peace and reconciliation, and the fight against foreign information manipulation and interference.
This Youth Policy Dialogue is a continuation of the first dialogue held in March 2025 and will continue the process of promoting young voices in conversations around EU foreign policy.
The dialogue will take place in the margins of the EU-Western Balkans Summit and in synergy with the Western Balkans Youth Forum of the Berlin Process organised by Regional Youth Cooperation Office, promoting reconciliation and cooperation between the youth in the region.
