The 11th European Union - Republic of Korea Summit takes place in Brussels on 10 June 2026. It will reaffirm the Strategic Partnership between the two sides and their shared commitment to peace, security and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

The Summit will also reaffirm the EU’s and the Republic of Korea’s shared commitment to effective multilateralism, and to a stable and predictable rules-based free and fair economic order.

The EU and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are like-minded partners sharing common values and common interests. Strategic Partners since 2010, cooperation between the two sides brings tangible benefits to citizens in both regions and to the wider international community.

At the Summit, Leaders will discuss bilateral cooperation and will have an exchange of views on current geopolitical developments as well as on regional and global challenges.

Peace, security and defence

The RoK is an important Strategic Partner for the EU, both in the Indo-Pacific and globally.

The EU and the RoK work closely in areas such as crisis management, maritime security, addressing hybrid and cyber threats, Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) and the fight against terrorism.

The EU’s Security and Defence Partnership with the RoK opened a new chapter in EU-Korean relations and represents an increasingly important aspect of bilateral cooperation. Through the annual Security and Defence Dialogues, the EU and the RoK advance cooperation on a wide range of shared security priorities. The first dialogue took place in Brussels in November 2025, while the second was held in Seoul in May 2026.
