Third "Hawk maintenance " module concludes within the framework of EUMAM UA
El Copero" Base, located in Sevilla, hosted a total of 40 Ukrainian military personnel from May 15 to June 18. The trainees received instruction on the maintenance of the Hawk weapons system from cadre of the 74th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment (RAAA 74). This collaboration is framed within the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM UA).
The training program took place over more than thirty days, during which advanced theoretical and practical content on the Hawk system was delivered to the Ukrainian personnel.
Some of the Ukrainian personnel participating in this module already possessed baseline knowledge of the HAWK system—some as system operators and others with prior experience in specialized maintenance. This baseline facilitated advanced instruction and the consolidation of core competencies.
During the module, RAAA 74 personnel transferred their expertise through theoretical classes focused on distinct maintenance tasks, which were subsequently executed through hands-on practical application at the unit's facilities. Furthermore, the Ukrainian personnel exchanged operational insights with RAAA 74 members regarding the combat employment of the HAWK system in the current theater of operations—a reciprocal learning process that will optimize maintenance procedures within the regiment.
EUMAM UA
The EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders and to deter and respond to possible future military offensives by Russia and other potential aggressors. EUMAM works closely together with all other like-minded international partners to provide training support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. EUMAM is open to the participation of third states. All mission activities are located on EU soil. So far, 24 EU Member States have offered training modules and personnel. The training is supported by the provision of equipment for lethal and non-lethal purposes to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This equipment is provided by Member States and funded by the European Peace Facility.
Spain remains committed to the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM UA). In Spain, training activities are led by the Toledo Training Coordination Centre (TTCC), under the direction of the Operations Command. Coordination takes place with different international structures, within the European Union and within the framework of multinational agreements.
