Back to School 2026: The Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan Continues Supporting Children with Disabilities and Those from Vulnerable Families

On 10 August 2026, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan organized its annual Back to School Campaign with the support of the Yenme CSO and the Support Center for People with Disabilities of Turkmenistan. As part of the initiative, 25 school packages were distributed to children with disabilities and from vulnerable families, helping them prepare for the upcoming school year with confidence.

In its fifth consecutive year, the campaign has become a valued tradition, reflecting the European Union's continued commitment to promoting inclusive education and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential. By providing essential school supplies, the initiative aims to give children a positive start to the new school year and encourage them to pursue their education with enthusiasm. 

Ambassador Beata Pęksa, together with the staff of the Delegation, personally presented the backpacks and school supplies to the children. 

Addressing the children, Ambassador Beata Pęksa said: “Always be curious, ask lots of questions, and never stop learning. Your new backpacks and school supplies are not just for carrying books—they’re your helpers for exploring, creating, and growing!“

The celebration was made even more special thanks to the participation of animators from Rishat Events Company, who filled the day with interactive games, music and dances, bringing smiles to the children's faces and adding to the festive atmosphere.
