EU Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative

The EU CBRN Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative is a worldwide programme of 56 partner countries, financed under the EU’s Instrument contributing to Stability & Peace (IcSP), which aims at mitigating risks related to CBRN materials and promoting the establishment of a culture of security. The causes of CBRN incidents are either natural (e.g. pandemics), accidental (e.g. industrial accidents) or intentional. It is especially the intentional or malevolent use of CBRN materials for terrorism attacks that is of increasing concern to the international community.
