“Останніми тижнями ми пересвідчилися, що маємо спільний інтерес у вирішенні питання порушень Росією територіальної цілісності України. Лише разом Європа та Америка можуть протистояти викликами, які Росія породжує на європейській землі, а також в інших місцях. Від часу незаконної анексії Криму ми постійно нагадували, що кордони не повинні та не можуть бути змінені військової силою, а також що порушення цього засадничого принципу підриває безпеку для всіх нас. І поточні події в Азовському морі так чи інакше - я би не сказала, що це неминучі наслідки, тому що такі речі завжди варто уникати, однак - є прямим наслідком явного порушення основних правил мирного співіснування на європейській території. Європа та Америка разом звертають увагу на ці порушення та разом на них реагують”.

Federica Mogherini on the situation in Ukraine
High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini made speech at the Harvard Kennedy School Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Here is what she said about the situation in Ukraine:
“We have seen in these very weeks that we share the same interest in addressing Russia's violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity: only together can Europe and America face the challenges that Russia poses on European soil, but also elsewhere. Since the illegal annexation of Crimea we have both stated constantly that borders must not and cannot be changed by military force and that when this basic principle is violated we are all less secure. And the current events in the Sea of Azov are somehow - I would not say the inevitable consequence, because things like that should always be avoidable but - the direct consequence of a clear violation of the basic rules of peaceful co-existence on European territory. Europe and America have been together in pointing out these violations and also in responding to them.”
