The uniqueness of Tashkent metro from Latvian traditional design

Artists from different countries were involved in the design of the Tashkent metro. The cultural diversity used in the design of the metro gives a special flavor and atmosphere in each station. For example, Latvian graphic artist Gunārs Krollis (Gunārs Krollis) and his wife, ceramist Isabella Krollis, were involved in the design of the Chilanzār metro station. Under Isabella's direction, five-metre chandeliers were created, which resemble the design of an ancient European castle. The station was opened on November 6, 1977.
