Statement by the Spokesperson on the attack in Davao, Philippines

The European Union stands in solidarity with the people and the Government of the Philippines  following yesterday evening's bomb attack in the city of Davao.

Our sincere condolences go to the families and friends of those who were killed, and we wish a quick recovery to those who were injured.

Tackling terrorism, in any form and in any country, is a priority for the European Union. The international community is working together to counter this global threat, and we stand by the authorities in the Philippines in their efforts to provide stability and security for their citizens against this threat.
