Pacific Regional Electrification Programme – Pac-REP

Approximately 3.5 million people in the Pacific remain without access to electricity, with 72% of the population residing in rural and remote areas. The Pacific Rural Electrification Programme (Pac-REP), a EUR 15M project funded by the EU, will provide electricity to around 30,000 people in remote islands of Pacific Island Countries. 

The project focuses on the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) with the lowest electrification rate: Fiji, FSM, Kiribati, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The project is being implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute and was launched in September 2025.
