Who we are
The European Union includes most of the European continent. What makes the EU stand out is that all Member States are sovereign countries, yet they work together in favour of peace and prosperity, while benefitting from the continent’s diversity of cultures, traditions and languages. Because of this, the European Union’s slogan is ‘United in Diversity’.

What we do
With the creation of the European External Action Service (EEAS), first introduced by the Lisbon Treaty, the European Union looks to play a more coherent and effective role in its foreign actions and to reach an influence beyond its borders.
The Delegation of the European Union in Paraguay is a diplomatic mission representing European Union. It is one of the 141 delegations around the world.
The EU in Paraguay performs the following functions:
- Strengthening the political dialogue, economic and commercial relations between the EU and Paraguay.
- Coordinates with the EU Member States accredited in the country.
- Collaborates with public entities, international organizations and civil society to boost Paraguay’s sustainable development.
- Inform society about the EU and its activities in Paraguay.
