The European Union unveils flagship “Plug in to Evolution” campaign to promote green and sustainable growth
The Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam (EU) today launched “Plug in to Evolution”, a flagship communication and public diplomacy campaign as part of the EU’s global engagement efforts under the “Global Gateway” Strategy.
The campaign positions the EU as a trusted partner in Vietnam’s green and inclusive transition, bringing forward a holistic message of sustainability, skills, and shared progress. Its guiding motto, “Climate action for green growth – EU and Vietnam’s youth stand together!”, highlights the central role of young people in shaping the future.
Speaking about the campaign, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said: “Inspired by wind, water, and sun as natural power sources, this campaign celebrates the evolving EU - Vietnam partnership with a strong emphasis on youth engagement and creative collaboration. Together with Vietnam’s youth, the European Union is turning climate goals into real opportunities for an innovative, green future. This campaign is not just about dialogue, it is about action, creativity, and collaboration that inspire lasting change.”
Connection – Evolution – Adaptation
“Plug in to Evolution” conveys a message of connection, transformation, and readiness, calling on Vietnam’s youth to embrace change and join a journey towards a sustainable future where people and nature evolve in harmony.
Creativity at the Core
This vision is brought to life by a new generation of Vietnamese artists – including Wean and Marzuz, Last Fire Crew, Fustic Studio, and Mark Vu – who are interpreting the three essential elements of wind, water, and sun through music, dance, and visual arts. Their collaborations showcase the dynamism of Vietnam’s youth, illustrating how culture and innovation can spark dialogue and collective action for sustainability.
The campaign also builds on the momentum of the EU’s earlier “I’ve Got the Power” initiative featuring hip-hop artist Suboi, which highlighted EU - Vietnam cooperation on clean energy.
Over the next year, “Plug in to Evolution” will feature digital storytelling and public diplomacy activities, including the EU - Vietnam Sustainable Design Awards, European Higher Education Week 2025, and artistic collaborations highlighting sustainability and green growth. These initiatives reaffirm the EU’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s innovative, inclusive, and sustainable future.

About the EU’s “Global Gateway” Strategy
“Global Gateway” is the EU’s proposal to deliver sustainable and secure links that work for people and the planet. We want to build clean and green infrastructure, bringing lasting benefits without indebting future generations. The “Global Gateway” strategy embodies a Team Europe approach that brings together the EU, EU Member States, and European development finance institutions.
Together, they aim to mobilize up to €300 billion in public and private investments from 2021 to 2027, creating essential links rather than dependencies, and closing the global investment gap. In Vietnam, the “Global Gateway” strategy is exemplified by projects such as the Tra Vinh Near-Shore Wind Farm; this EU-financed wind farm generates renewable electricity, supplying power to 130,000 people and reducing CO₂ emissions by 70,000 tons annually.
