Since 2007, the European Union has been represented in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein by an ambassador and a diplomatic mission. This local presence allows the EU to maintain and deepen its wide-ranging relationship with these two states in direct contact with the authorities, the business community and the civil society. The EU Delegation accompanies and supports the implementation of the treaties between the EU and the two host states, as well as ongoing negotiations. It also acts as a contact point for the media and the general public. The EU Delegation works in close coordination with the Member States' embassies.
