About the Ambassador
Her Excellency Cécile Tassin currently serves as the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Her tenure began in October 2025.
Ambassador Tassin has nearly three decades of extensive experience within the European Union. Throughout her career, she has held various positions of increasing responsibility at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, as well as in EU Delegations around the globe, including significant assignments in Africa and the Caribbean.
Before her new role in Trinidad and Tobago, Ambassador Tassin served as an Advisor for the Africa Directorate of the Directorate-General for International Partnerships in Brussels. Her seasoned expertise in international development and diplomatic relations will undoubtedly strengthen the EU's commitment to fostering cooperation and dialogue with Trinidad and Tobago.
Originally from France, Ambassador Tassin holds a Master Degree in Comparative Public Law from the Sorbonne University (Paris, France) and a Master in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). She is married and has two children.
