Welcome to the Website of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago

I am very pleased to welcome you to the website of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago!

The EU and T&T have much in common. Just as in the EU, diversity is also celebrated and cherished here. T&T’s motto “Together We Aspire, Together We Achieve” is comparable with the EU’s "United in diversity”.

The EU and T&T enjoy a partnership of equals that is more important than ever in the face of profound global challenges - the most serious being climate change and environmental degradation. We must work together, and with others, to meet these challenges and we cannot afford to fail.

I invite you to peruse the site where you will find details about the EU – who we are and our work in T&T. You can also find information here about our Calls for Proposals, tenders, job openings, and other information that may be of interest.

For those wishing to follow us a bit more closely, our social media handles are Facebook and Twitter. If you have additional questions or comments, we invite you to email us at delegation-trinidad-and-tobago-general@eeas.europa.eu.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our site

EU Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago Presents His Credentials

Peter Cavendish, Head of the EU Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago, officially presented his credentials to Her Excellency, Paula Mae Weekes, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago,  in July 2021.  Ambassador Cavendish also paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, where he was greeted by the Acting Permanent  Secretary, Mr Bruce Lai, in the absence of Senator the Honourable Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, who is travelling on Government business.

At the President’s House, Ambassador Cavendish presented his credentials and gifted Her Excellency, President Weekes with a framed photograph of one the works of Jean Marc Caracci, whose photo exhibition, Homo Urbanus Europeanus, was hosted by the Delegation in 2018.

In their brief dialogue, Ambassador Cavendish, shared details about the photo before outlining some priorities of his upcoming four-year tenure.  President Weekes warmly welcomed the Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago and urged him to also set aside time to enjoy the islands and all they have to offer.

The new Ambassador then left the President’s House to return to the Delegation under a full Cavalry escort.
