As the European Union's Military Exercise 2026 (MILEX26) enters its final phase, the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC) assumes its central role as the strategic headquarters responsible for directing the military response to an evolving crisis scenario.

On 1 June, colleagues from the European Union Military Staff (EUMS) and the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC) gathered in the Protocol Area of the NEO Building for a ceremony of particular significance.

The EU decided to expand the scope of the EU’s restrictive measures regarding Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad to also target members of the Political Bureau of Hamas (Politburo), who promote, defend and justify violent actions. The EU also listed 10 individual members of the Politburo.
