The leaders of the European Union and of the Western Balkans met in Brussels on 17 December 2025 for the annual EU-Western Balkans Summit. The Summit reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the European Union and the Western Balkans, as reflected in the Brussels Declaration. “Enlargement is a realistic opportunity, which should be seized,” the EU leaders stated.
