The Diplomatic Service of the European Union

Data protection, secure international data transfers, artificial intelligence and legal certainty for investment were among the main topics discussed by more than 100 representatives from 22 Latin American and Caribbean countries, eight EU Member States, EU institutions and partner organisations.

The European Union and the Holy See have diplomatic relations since 1970 and a Structured Dialogue on Foreign Policy since 2015.

Brigadier General Ivan FALASCA formally assumed command of the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM Somalia), succeeding Brigadier General Elio MANES during a Change of Command Ceremony in Mogadishu.

The EU is taking further action against Russia with new restrictive measures targeting those responsible for the unlawful deportation and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children, as well as individuals involved in the repression of democratic opposition and the undermining of democracy and the rule of law in Russia.
