Useful information on traveling from Armenia to the EU and for studying there.
Greater Mobility with the EU
The EU – Armenia visa facilitation agreement came into force on 1 January 2014. The agreement covers simplified procedures for processing short-stay visas for the Schengen area. It also reduces visa fees for Armenian citizens and waives fees for certain categories of applicants. Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein and Switzerland are not bound by the agreement.
In September 2024, the EU launched a visa liberalisation dialogue with Armenia. This process aims to support Armenia in achieving a visa-free regime for short-stays with the EU, provided that the relevant conditions for well-managed mobility and security are put in place.
