Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Argentina

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Argentina?
We offer:
A traineeship of 6 months in 2026 within the Politics, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation, subject to availability of the budget. The tentative start date is November 2026.
The Political, Press and Information Section monitors political, economic and social developments in Argentina, as well as relevant regional and international issues. It contributes to analysis of Argentina’s domestic politics, foreign policy and relations with the EU, and supports the Delegation’s strategic communication, public diplomacy, media and social media activities.
Main tasks:
As part of a team of 5 people, the intern will contribute to the following tasks:
- Political and analytical reports and briefings
- Strategic communication, public diplomacy and social media activities
- Media monitoring, analysis and preparation of media reviews
- Participation in meetings, events and conferences, including note-taking and reporting
- Preparation of background information
- Supporting the organization of public diplomacy and press events aimed at increasing the visibility of the EU in Argentina.
- Monitoring the Argentine daily press and preparing reports on issues of interest to the Delegation and Headquarters.
- Conducting research on legislation, statistics and political developments to support the preparation of reports and other documents.
- Compiling information on relevant EU legislation and policies of interest to Argentina for dissemination.
We look for:
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Young graduate with a university degree in Political Science, International Relations, European Studies, Journalism, Communications, Law or other relevant Social Sciences.
- Traineeship or other practical experience in a workplace, NGO or association ideally abroad (not exceeding 12 months).
- Fluency in English and Spanish (C2 level), written and oral communications; both languages used as working languages
- Interest in EU–Argentina relations, international affairs, political developments and strategic communication would be an advantage
- Experience with (professional/institutional) social media publications

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states:
- must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
- must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
