EU-ASEAN Green Diplomacy Week 2023

We have a series of 10 events, including panel discussions, exhibitions and clean up sessions, as well as a fun walk/ run/ cycling event. The events focus on engaging with ASEAN youth and the public.

Kicking off this year’s Green Diplomacy Week is a fun walk/run/cycling event ‘EU-ASEAN GET UP AND MOVE’.

The EU-ASEAN GET UP & MOVE event aims to support three main pillars of the European Green Deal: sustainable transport, eliminating pollution and ensuring a just transition for all.

The event will be open to all invited communities and participants of all ages. 

The launch event will take place in Jakarta on:  

Date : Sunday, 15 October 2023 
Time : 07.00-10.00 Jakarta time
Location :

• Start point: Chillax Sudirman, Jl. Jendral Sudirman Kav 23, Karet, Setiabudi, Jakarta
• Finish point: Taman Softball, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Entrance through Gate 7
• Distance : Around 5-7 KM

Each participant will get ONE FREE RACE KIT:

• 1 pcs Jersey*
• 1 pcs Tumbler
• 1 pcs Drawstring bag
• 1 pcs Medal**

* jersey size will be based on the registration form and cannot be changed
** medal will be given at the finish point

Indonesia, we are pleased to collaborate with World Cleanup Day (WCD) Indonesia to go on a Waste Bank Tour! 100 Senior High School students learned about waste management and took a learning tour of the Waste Bank on 21 October 2023 at Waste Bank Tanjung Burung, Banten Province.

Hello Philippines! Please welcome the next Young Stewards of Nature! The EU Delegation to ASEAN in collaboration with Síkat-Aurora held a two-day workshop to build environmental awareness of the children in Sentrong Paaralan ng mga Agta in Casiguran, Aurora. The interactive workshop aims to prepare these kids to be Philippines' next Young Stewards of Nature.

Hello Thailand! In the spirit of Green Diplomacy Weeks, Precious Plastic Bangkok (PPB) held a workshop for children on 16 October 2023 at the Orphanage Mercy Center. Are you also interested in plastic recycling and on reducing your own plastic use?

As part of the EU-ASEAN Green Diplomacy Week 2023, the EU Delegation to Thailand coordinated with the EU Delegation to ASEAN and Save Vietnam's Wildlife for “Biodiversity and Me”, an exciting extracurricular session for students living around Pu Mat National Park (Nghe An, Central Vietnam). Through open, accessible and interactive activities, the students learned more about the ecosystem around them, as well as the importance of biodiversity protection.

With nearly 1,500 animal species and nearly 2,500 plant species, Pu Mat is known as a special forest boasting very rich biodiversity.
