Integrated Programme in Enhancing the Capacity of AHA Centre and ASEAN Emergency Response Mechanisms (EU Support to AHA Centre)
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the goal of the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) to achieve substantial reduction of disaster losses in lives, in the economic, social, physical and environmental assets of ASEAN Member States, and to support joint responses to disaster emergencies through concerted national efforts, and intensified regional and international cooperation.

Strengthen the capacity and sustainability of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) to achieve operational excellence in disaster monitoring and emergency response

Enhance mechanisms for ASEAN Leadership to Respond-As-One, through excellence and innovation in disaster management.

Demonstrated ASEAN’s preparedness and leadership to Respond-As-One through (i) sustained effective conduct of the ASEAN Regional Disaster Simulation Exercise (ARDEX) (ii) enhanced capacity of ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) (iii) enhanced civil-military coordination, and (iv) enhanced role of the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Coordinator;

Established an Integrated Regional Knowledge Management Hub, enhanced professionalism through standards and certification, and innovation continuously fostered.
