Trade Talks! The 10th round of EU-AUS FTA negotiations take place online

Working to European and Australian time zones, the latest round is scheduled to take place from 9-19 March, structured in 28 different groups. Negotiations will cover most areas of the future agreement, including technical barriers to trade, sustainable development, goods, services, public procurement, rules of origin, and intellectual property rights.

The EU's chief negotiator Helena König says the agreement, once finalised, will boost EU-Australia relations. "It is very important to come with something that actually improves the situation from where we are now, making it easier to trade, making it easier to provide services or to invest.”

“An agreement that is good for our stakeholders, whether it’s businesses both small and large … an agreement that cares about the environment, labour rights. All of those things are covered in the agreement.”
