Invited by COP 15 President and Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu, EU Ambassador to China Jorge Toledo attended the International Day for Biodiversity Event 2023 in Kunming on 22 May, reflecting the regular cooperation between the EU and China on biodiversity.

During the event, Ambassador Toledo and Minister Huang celebrated the milestone agreement of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, signed last December, and discussed this year’s theme “from agreement to action: build back biodiversity”.

In the same way they worked closely together for reaching the agreement, the EU is ready to work with China on its implementation.
