DG CLIMA participates in the 8th Ministerial on Climate Action in Wuhan

The Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) of European Commission was represented at the 8th Ministerial on Climate Action, that took place in Wuhan on 22 and 23 July. A format created jointly by the EU, China and Canada, the meeting is part of the preparatory process leading to the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) that will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in November this year, a few months ahead of the February deadline for Parties to submit their new Nationally Determined Contributions. Discussions covered a full range of topics, including mitigation, adaptation and finance. A bilateral meeting took place with China, represented by Vice Minister Zhao of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
