The annual Network Conference for the Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals celebrates its 20th anniversary

Ambassador Batistić Kos congratulated the programme on its 20th anniversary and welcomed HELP's continued cooperation with the EU. She noted that HELP has played an important role in implementing the European Judicial Training Strategy for 2021-2024. Throughout the implementation of the Strategy, the Commission has maintained a long-lasting cooperation with HELP. This included the funding of three consecutive HELP projects via the Justice programme, as well as HELP’s contributions to the judges@europe initiative implemented for the Commission by the European Judicial Training Network. The Ambassador explained that she expects HELP to play a significant role in the next European Judicial Training Strategy, which will address the challenges and opportunities linked to the digitalisation of the justice system.

HELP courses will support answering justice professionals’ need to be able to secure adequate protection of individual rights and personal data in the digital space.

The HELP programme hosts a free e-learning platform aimed at enhancing the capacities of judges, lawyers, prosecutors, and academics to apply the European Convention on Human Rights and other key legal texts of the Council of Europe and the European Union in their daily work. HELP supports legal professionals at the forefront of protecting human rights benefits through up-to-date, high-quality training on the evolving standards and case law of the European Court of Human Rights. Although HELP is intended for legal professionals, the free self-learning courses are open to all who are interested.
