The Conference of Participants of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation Against Ukraine holds its fifth meeting

The COP welcomed the change of the EU’s status from Associate Member to Participant on 22 July 2024. It took note of the over 10,000 claims already submitted for the damage or destruction of immovable residential property. It adopted the budget for 2025 and exchanged views on claim forms for 16 categories of claims proposed by the Board. EU Ambassador Vesna Batistic Kos reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to seeing Russia held fully accountable, including for the massive damage caused by its war. She reiterated the EU’s support for RD4U as a first tangible step towards a future compensation mechanism.
