The EU Delegation joined the Charity Market for Ukraine

On 11 December the Amicale of the Council of Europe organised a Charity Market for Ukraine. The EU Del alongside many Member States of the Council of Europe ran a stall to support the Regional Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care for Children “Hippocrates” in Kharkiv.

On 11 December, the European Union Delegation to the Council of Europe, together with 28 participating countries, took part in the International Charity Market in support of Ukraine. The event brought together diplomatic missions: providing concrete support to children affected by the ongoing war.

The Charity Market was officially opened by the Ambassador of Ukraine, alongside the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, and the Deputy Director of the “Hippocrates” Center. Their opening remarks underscored the importance of international solidarity and sustained support for Ukraine’s civilian population, particularly its most vulnerable members.

Following the official opening, visitors were welcomed by a rich cultural programme highlighting the diversity and resilience of the region. The programme featured traditional Ukrainian singers and dancers, as well as a choir performance.

All proceeds raised during the Market will be donated to the Regional Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care for Children “Hippocrates” in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Despite operating under challenging conditions, the centre provides essential medical care to children affected by conflict and displacement.

Thanks to the strong engagement of participants and visitors, a total of 17,000€ was raised during the event. This contribution reflects the EU Delegation’s continued commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts since the beginning of the war.
