Signature of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of the Environment through Criminal Law

The EU Head of Delegation to the Council of Europe, Vesna Kos, signed the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of the Environment through Criminal Law on behalf of the EU in Strasbourg on 3 December 2025.
The Convention reflects a significant advancement in international cooperation to combat environmental offences. It aligns closely with the principles and standards of the recently adopted EU Environmental Crime Directive and will contribute to fostering a more consistent and effective approach to environmental protection beyond the EU.
