What's next to strengthen Europe's role in protecting human rights?

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and on the eve of the award of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, highest tribute paid by the European Parliament to human rights work, to Jina Mahsa Amini and the Women, Life, Freedom movement in Iran, we are organising a debate on 12 December with the European Parliamentary Association : “What’s next to strengthen Europe’s role in protecting human rights?”

 

We are pleased to welcome 3 guest speakers for our debate:

Stella Ronner-Grubačić, Deputy Managing Director for Values and Multilateral Relations at the European External Action Service.

Bernard Guetta, Member of the European Parliament, Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights.

Christophe Poirel, Director of Human Rights at the Council of Europe.

The debate will be in French and English and will be followed by a reception.
