With Egypt, consistently

In March 2024, our relationship reached a new level. The EU and Egypt established a Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, backed by a €7.4 billion financial and investment package for 2024 to 2027 — deepening cooperation across six strategic pillars.

And our commitments became concrete support. In December 2024, the EU disbursed the first €1 billion in macro-financial assistance, helping strengthen Egypt’s economic resilience.

In October 2025, the partnership reached another historic milestone:
the first-ever EU–Egypt Summit. Leaders met in Brussels, elevating the relationship to the highest political level and reaffirming shared priorities on stability, prosperity and security.

And the EU continued to deliver. In January 2026, another €1 billion was disbursed under the longer-term macro-financial assistance operation, supporting economic resilience and reforms.

In March 2026, the partnership deepened further, with the launch of the first EU–Egypt Security and Defence Dialogue — creating a dedicated channel to cooperate on shared security challenges.

And beyond institutions and agreements, the EU Delegation in Egypt continues to engage with Egyptian society: fostering dialogue, exchanges and the people-to-people connections that give our partnership its human dimension.
