EU Ambassador to Eritrea visits NAIDDE, an EU-supported organization empowering families with children with disabilities
The EU Ambassador to Eritrea H.E. Joanna DARMANIN paid a visit to the offices of NAIDDE, a well-established Eritrean civil society organization that has benefited from EU support, among others, in recognition of its continued efforts to sustain and empower families raising children with disabilities. The association has grown from strength to strength and promotes the safe guarding of social rights of the children in the country and to help address social stigma in the community. The association implemented EU funded projects worth at least EUR 1.6 Million to promote social protection of Persons living with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in Eritrea, as well as, the promotion and advocacy for the protection of rights of the disabled children across all sectors. This project seeks to support the free access and services to health, educational and vocational facilities of disabled children.
